this a print screen of how i created the backgrounds.

I used adobe after effects to key out all the blue screens and make my back grounds I found the software okay to use it wasn’t that difficult to use the only problem I had was getting rid of some of the creases that were in the footage. Overall I had fun using adobe after effects It has helped me with creating the final product. because i didnt know how to use adobe after effect i had to use tutotials, this is the website i used to learn how to do everything on after effects http://www.videocopilot.net/

i created my didgi pack and magazine ad on photoshop this software has helped alot in doing this task, i had to look at a few tutorials before making my digi pack this is because i had never use photoshop.

•I used this audience feedback to make most of the changes to my first draft.

•I made my video more colourful which is one of the things suggested in the feedback.

Change of ideas

Just recently we changed the idea of our music video, we were going to do the frame in frame thing in our music video, when we tested the idea it worked very well however we had to get rid of the idea because of how fast our music video is. The cuts in the video are just so fast that if we zoomed in to another frame we really wont see that frame. but this was not a major problem cause we just made a new concept which is now split screens.

Editing plans

this week i should be finish editing, i have keyed out all the blue screen an now i plan to start creating my backgrounds once that is done i will import them on to final cut pro.

Weekly update

This week i started using adobe after effects to key out all the blue screen, ive been watching alot of tutorials to learn how to use after effects. hopefully by next week i should be done taking out all the blue.

This week we completed our first draft of our music video, and handed in my first draft of my digi pack and album cover. There is still a lot more work to be done with our video, we still need to key out the blue screen and put in the backgrounds hopefully every thing should be completed before the deadline.

Inspirations

We did lots of research in to different music videos to get inspiration for our idea the main video that inspired our video is calvin harris ready for the weekend. its a very cool video. in the video Calvin harris is hold a frame, the video continuously goes in to that frame and every time in goes in the frame something us see dancers. we want to do something similar like this but not as complicated.



The second video that inspired our music video is Beyonce countdown music videos, this music video uses a variety of bright colours and effects which we want to add to our video.



The third video that inspired our video is Beyonce run the world music video, the dancing in the music video was brilliant, it was on the beat and it was fast. we wanted the female dancers to choreograph moves similar to Beyonce and dance to the beat of our song Pon de floor

Editing plans

we've just finished filming our music video, and today i just captured all the footage, as the editor i plan to spend three day putting all the clips where i want them and what clips i want and don't want to use, after i have done that am going use after effects to key out the blue and put in the background . my group members Ali and Natasha will be gathering all the background we'er going to use. as still have plenty of time left to edit i want to take my time editing our video.

Equipment used

Filming 

 We used three cameras to film, i was on one, Ali was on the second one and Natasha was on the third one.  we also use three tripod. on the first day of filming we got the wrong tripods for one of the cameras so we had to do hand held shots with that camera. we use the PD170 for the first day of filming and when it came to filming the boys we used a HDV camera, even though the cameras are both different we don't think it would be a big problem.

Day two of filming

Today we filmed the boys it was easier than the first day we filmed, this was because there wasnt that much to film and also not many people to film, the boys new what they were doing and just got on with it. one problem we had today was with the blue screen we tryed our best to get rid of the creases, last time we taped it down so that only a few creases were there but this time we had no tape so we had to get some on tp hold it down while filming. we only have one more day of filming to do and that is of the two boys palying vybz kartel and major lazer.

Day one of filming

Today was the first day of filming we filmed the girls and hilary. we used three cameras to film i was on one ali was on the second one and natashaa was on the third, at first we found it a bit difficulte to run three cameras cause we had very limited space to film but we mannaged. overall it was a successful day of filming we filmed all the girls in there first outfit and hilary aswell, the only problem that we had today was that a few guys came to the blue screen room who werent supposed to be there, they refused to leave at first but eventually we managed to get rid of the carried on filming. we took a few pictures of our first day of filming.

Location

we don't have many locations, will be filming in college using the blue screen this is because we want to create our own locations. we want to have funky backgrounds cause it goes with the concept of our video.







our second location is just in front of different walls, for the first 40second of our music video we want to film peoples doing random moves with there feet in front of a wall.

Dance Rehearsal

we organized a couple of days of rehearsals for all the dancers before filming so the dancers can be prepared for when we start filming. we also filmed the rehearsals........

Audition for the dancers

Today i went to the dance department and asked for a few dancers the teacher allowed me to audition them before picking the. the audiens lasted for 15min, with the help of jess the dance teacher i was able to pick 5 good dancers suitable for our video.

Weekly update

This week i auditioned a few dancers and picked out five girls and two guys as the main dancers for our music video. we've also decided to changed our idea abit, instead of doing the whole thing outside we are going to film most of the dancers infront of the blue screen and create digital images. i ve also organised rehearl days with the dancers which i will record post on the blog. we've already filmed the begining of the music video,me and my group have decided to film and edit as we go along the rason for this is because we dont want to waste valuable time capuring the footage.

the song doesnt have that many lyrics it is mainly just an instrumental, the beat of the song is very fast. the lyrics dont really have any meaning behind them but the beat of the song was made for dancing.

This week we did some research in to our music genre and contacted the artist.  after doing the research we have an idea of what our music video should have, we've also been watching a lot of music videos most of them from the same genre as ours this is to help us get inspiration and ideas for our music video.

Auteur Theory

Auteur means “Author” in French. The idea behind this theory is that a film director personal creative vision can be seen through the director’s film thus making him the author. However as simple as this may sound, the question to be asked is who is really considered as the Auteur. Auteur theory has influenced film criticism since the 1950s, as there is a lot of collaboration in film production the controversy caused by this theory was that who was considered the auteur. the director is responsible for the film. However, more than one person will work on a film, so what makes the director more worthy of Authorship than, say, the editor, camera operator or scriptwriter. However this does not mean every film director should be considered an “Auteur” of a particular film. To be considered an author, a director must have a variety of work which have ongoing themes, whether they occur intentionally or unintentionally.

Similarly this theory can be applied to music videos; the directors own visual significance should be seen throughout the music video. A famous music video director that I have chosen to look at is Joseph Kahn.
